TCCI Joins Industry Leaders, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker at White House for CHIPS and Science Bill Signing
$280B Legislation will further innovation and research in manufacturing

Decatur, Illinois —TCCI Manufacturing was among companies on hand for the signing of the CHIPS and Science Act in Washington, D.C. this week. The $280 billion legislation supports companies producing semiconductor chips in the U.S., alleviating supply chain challenges that limit the delivery of semiconductors for autos, household appliances, computers and many other industries that rely on chip production. With this impactful federal support, semiconductor manufacturers will establish more reliable operations.

Kara Demirjian Huss, TCCI’s Vice President and secretary/treasurer for the Illinois Manufacturers Association joined Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker along with electric vehicle industry leaders from Rivian, Ford Motor Company and Lion Electric.

Headquartered in Decatur, Illinois, TCCI is recognized in the industry as a leader in compressor technology, already having developed the largest range of EV compressors in the market.

“Each day, we are in the pursuit of providing value to our customers, managing our supply chains, while building value for our customers and our customer’s customer. The CHIPS and Science Act will help us to continue to exceed our customer needs while furthering our innovation and research in manufacturing,” said Kara Demirjian Huss. “It was an honor to join the delegation in Washington, D.C. to mark this great turning point for the industry. This is a significant moment as we embark on new programs, workforce development initiatives and research innovation to transition our industry toward widespread electrification.”

The CHIPS and Science Act strengthens our national security by preventing shortages of critical goods and making sure more of these goods are made in the U.S., and manufacturers are called upon as resilient global leaders in innovation and technology. Within Illinois, this meaningful action will have a positive impact on the state’s economy as manufacturing is our largest share of any industry to the state’s gross domestic product. Illinois manufacturing’s total economic impact is estimated to be between $580 billion and $611 billion every year.
