Erik Huyghe joins T/CCI as Director of Advanced Engineering
DECATUR, IL – T/CCI Manufacturing, a world leader in compressor technology including reciprocating, swash plate, wobble plate, and variable compressor designs, has named Erik Huyghe the new Director of Advanced Engineering. Erik is an established industry expert in the innovation, design and development of variable and electric compressors as well as refrigerant system integration. In addition, he has been involved in global efforts to reduce emissions through new technologies, working with industry leadership and government.
Erik spent the last five years of his career with General Motors in Detroit, MI and will remain in the Detroit area to cultivate, manage and service T/CCI’s heavy duty and growing light duty commercial customer base.
“Erik’s knowledge and experience will be instrumental in our current and future efforts to augment T/CCI’s product portfolio and aggressively expand our electric and variable compressors globally, meeting a fast growing industry demand,” T/CCI President Richard Demirjian said. “He will work closely with our US, China, Europe and India engineering teams to develop products around our customers long term plans. We’re very excited to have him join our team.”
Prior to joining T/CCI, Erik served as a technical expert for compressors, traditional air conditioning systems and heat pumps, for ICE and battery electric vehicles for General Motors. He led efforts to develop specifications and set validation requirements for compressors. Erik also worked with suppliers on development and integration of new technologies into various applications.
Erik brings additional expertise with his work in emissions reducing technologies. He was a core part of the team at GM that worked to optimize systems to reduce emissions impact, and worked closely with customers to achieve emissions requirements. Prior to his role with General Motors, he served in a similar capacity with DENSO Corporation, and was responsible for the testing and calculations presented to the EPA for off-cycle CO2 emissions credits.
As Director of Advanced Engineering for T/CCI, Erik will have the opportunity to build on his success in the industry, working with global partners on the integration of belt-driven and electric compressor technologies as well as interfacing with automotive customers to ensure T/CCI designs align with their strategies and meet performance, efficiency and durability requirements.
“I’m looking forward to working with T/CCI and am excited about the impact my experience can have as part of this team,” Huyghe said. “Electrification has become a global trend led by government regulations in many counties. As electric compressors become a necessity in the market, it creates an exciting time for T/CCI and I’m looking forward to being a part of these efforts.”
Huyghe has earned a number of patents for his work including patents for Vehicular Air-Conditioning System with a Switching Heat Exchanger, Thermostatic Controlled Heat Pump Water Circuit and a Multi-Function Infrared Heating Device.
